About

Portrait

Architect (M.Arch.) and computational designer based in Ankara, trained at Middle East Technical University (METU).

The work starts from nature: looking through its lens at the problems society faces today — pollution, waste, destructive habits — and treating architecture as a way to regenerate environments, communities and individuals together.

The past three years centre on modular architecture and construction. Underneath runs computational design — parametric and generative tools, environmental simulation and digital fabrication — used to test how a design answers to water, heat, material and use. The M.Arch. thesis developed a street-scale method to optimize the water cycle and outdoor thermal comfort with nature-based solutions.

Earlier: concept design, form-finding and visualization at Melike Altınışık Architects; remote work for SAWA Architecture (UK) and ZEA Studio; freelance modelling and analysis. Alongside, a long thread of shared learning — EASA, workshops, voluntary builds, competitions and the Venice Biennale.

Every project here was made with others — teams, tutors, offices and participants. This site is a record of shared work and shared knowledge.

The field

The drawing on the first page is made of five rule sets — one per focus area. Each has a character, three verbs that describe how that kind of work behaves. Together they make one field: the way the work connects.
